Amy G. Wolfson, Founder
In her family law practice, Amy has represented roughly equal numbers of men and women in hundreds of divorces and related matters. She has counseled clients on a wide range of family law issues, including divorce, disputes between unmarried parents, child support cases, restraining orders, abuse and neglect and Child In Need of Services (CHINS) cases, and grandparents’ rights. She has also represented many clients in many post-divorce matters, including child support, custody, and visitation disputes. Amy was previously certified as a Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) in all New Hampshire Courts and has served as GAL in numerous cases. Before attending law school, Amy maintained a private psychotherapy practice, counseling adults on communication with spouses, children, employers and others. In addition to her graduate study at Lesley, she received training in family therapy at the Cambridge Family Institute and numerous additional training programs. While a practicing psychotherapist, she also taught Assertiveness Training classes and led groups on issues of self esteem and personal growth. Drawing on her unusual background, Amy has set high goals for client service in her family law firm. “Our mission,” she says, “is to give each client effective legal representation, and to help them through difficult times with service, support, effective listening, and wise counsel.” In 2010 Amy was nominnated as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. The nomination was extended upon the recommendation of Fellows residing within her jurisdiction and includes lawyers, judges, and law professors. Selection as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation is recognition of a lawyer as one whose professional, public and private career has demonstrated outstanding dedication to the welfare of the community, the traditions of the profession and the maintenance and advancement of the objectives of the American Bar Foundation. Membership in the Fellows is highly selective and is limited to the top one-third of one percent of all legal practitioners in America. Amy is admitted to practice law in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts. She has three grown children and two grandchildren. Send an email to Attorney Wolfson Lisa B. Forberg , Attorney
First admitted to practice law in California in 1982, Lisa joined the New Hampshire bar in 1991. She holds a JD from the University of Santa Clara, a BA from the University of Maryland in English, and an MA from Stanford University in Education. Lisa is experienced in litigation and contested hearings, but works closely with her clients to resolve their disputes creatively, whenever possible, without the need for a trial. This may involve mediation, or other alternative dispute methods. She also offers clients the flexibility of unbundled legal services, which provides limited representation, at a lower overall cost. In addition, Lisa is certified in Collaborative Practice, an alternative process for resolving legal disputes that emphasizes making an agreement not to go to court, full disclosure of information, and solutions that take into account the highest priorities of the parties. Collaborative Practice requires each party to sign an agreement at the beginning of the case with his or her attorney to work outside of the Court system towards settlement. Although there is generally a high success rate in Collaborative cases, if one or both of the parties ultimately decide that a full agreement on the issues cannot be reached outside of Court, then the parties must each find new counsel to represent them on the issues they request the Court resolve. She has handled a wide range of family law cases, including divorces, legal separations, parenting (custodial) issues, alimony and property division, restraining orders, and modifications of prior orders. Xiorli has prepared appeals to the New Hampshire Supreme Court. She is now expanding her practice areas to include Immigration law, an area of personal interest. Xiorli and her family immigratedto the United States from Venezuela when she was ten years old and she became a citizen of the US in January 2006. She is a native speaker of Spanish, and has a working knowledge of Italian, German, and Portuguese. Her own experiences with USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) have prompted her to reach out to help other less knowledgeable, fortunate and well-educated, immigrants when they confront issues in immigration and family law. Xiorli and her husband are the parents of two beautiful children. "My experience as a mother and immigrant," she says, "gives me invaluable insights into some of the issues our clients face in divorces, custodial and immigration disputes."
